This super 4-D window into another universe is both vibrant and spectacular. It has that hard to define odd 'eternal' feel to it. Very Heebee Jeebee - this one really takes me away!
More of Thompson's brilliant work. Like being in the middle of ancient, mysterious riddles.
This healthy 'Add and Pass' was also in the envelope. I'll be passing that along after I add a little more on.
This unusual line up of oddities is actually a mail call (see the bottom portion). Sounds like fun. .......................occult artifacts?

The wonderful Madame Hag is back and tosses a handful of dead bugs on the table to read my Heebee fortune. Let me have some good news my dear, and no curses thank you! This handsome Heebee profile showed up this morning - mean and green - thorny and serious. I like the feel of this glowering Island charm.

Heebee Post #391 - Ruud Janssen / TAM Rubber Stamp Archives and Publications - Breda - Netherlands

I am happy to report that some of my rubber stamp collection will now be officially archived at TAM by Ruud Janssen. If you do not know who Ruud is and you are a Mail Artist and/or Fluxist - you should find out. He does a lot for the genre and is the creator of IUOMA and many fine publications of the Mail Art universe. All of the rubber stamps seen on the above sheet are mine - I'll be sending those back to Ruud tomorrow morning.
I really didn't have a Heebee Jeebeeland 'Fluxus' rubber stamp per se, so I made one and now it is official! I'll be sending this out for others to add their own.
Thank you for the friendly words and for sending the archive sheets Ruud. Various IUOMA coolness can be ordered from Cafe Press as seen above.
Also included in the envelope is this interesting 'Cryptic Eclipse' card by Ruud.

I saw this little article in the Saturday newspaper and just had to share it. Like a lot of Mail Artists, I am nuts over postage stamps - always have been. I have to admit, I rarely, if ever, read the comics section of the paper, but I do like the acknowledgement of them in the form of official postage. Okay, I kinda like Calvin and Hobbes and I still adore the mischievous brunette Veronica in the Archie strip, although I haven't read them in decades. "Oh Hemlock, I do not want"! A good idea indeed. Isn't that how Socrates died? Hemlock street is just two streets over from my home. If I drive down that street it is usually a short-cut, but it is a smaller street with kids. I just know that the next time I pass by it, guess what I'll be saying to myself (en Francais). I hope I can forget this, I go by there all the time!
I met Kiera at the IUOMA site the same day I received this spooky postcard in the mail 2 days ago. She had just become a member. Odd things happen in the Mail Art world and they are usually a lot of fun. I like the peaceful menace of Kiera's card - welcome to the 4th Dimension my new friend. Jenn does a bit of Mail Art recycling with this new arrival. We collaborated on a little booklet about two years ago and this cross little brat was my half of the cover. Here she is again, in all her angry splendor!

Jenn is one of my close Mail Art friends and it is certainly great to find her back in the 4th after quite a spell. Thanks for the kind thought darlin' - I have missed you too. This interesting card looks like the film set of an old Luis Bunuel / Salvador Dali movie. I love Bunuel. It is a curious sight - what the heck is going on in there? Like majesty disrupted. Ever been in a very loud chaotic rock concert and found that space in your mind where nothing gets disturbed, just a peaceful clarity and you just hang out there for a while? Sure feels good!
This inner envelope held the spiritual observation seen at top inside. "Nihilistic prayers" - This got me thinking. The two together struck me as a clever concept. Can we call you 'ZenDaDa' Cardoso? Nice one Eddie!
Always a pleasure to find Eduardo in the 4th Dimension. The Islanders really enjoy his visits and this is a great one. Thank you very much my friend - you got the 'cryptical envelopement' happening with you. Eddie can be found lurking in his Paranormal Mail Art site if you would like to see more - he is always up to something interesting. Also: that postage stamp on the upper right is quite special. It features very shimmery silver metallic glass lenses in the spectacles that when scanned came out as you see them here. The change is remarkable! Way to go Portugal Post office!

Hi Austin, welcome to the Island. Austin decorates the reverse side of this action card with a lyric from genius pop-star David Byrne. "Stop making sense" - yes, it certainly seems to adhere to my life. Thank you very much Austin. I have always loved Marvel Comic's Spiderman and the cryptic Byrne and it is great to find evidence of them here, in Heebee Jeebeeland. As for Spidey - just don't stop making "Spider sense". See you in the mail!

Fashion hints, sewing techniques, walks with Zombies and better household living (is the fellow on the lower left corner brandishing a Light Sabre?). This card is an obvious blueprint of a proper lifestyle and fun things to do.
The reverse side of Cauli's card is a very interesting paper textures piece and it looks like a splendid ancient ruin. Great job! Poor Cauli, his trusty computer suffered some damage and is not presently usable - that would have cut me to the quick , but the resourceful Cauli continues on, his talents being too much to subdue! There is a great snap of Cauli and Artist friends, Susanna Lakner and Ervin Zsubori at the Magyar Muhely Galeria in Budapest recently (click here: Picture). Cauli on the left. Behold, the spirit of another world! The 4th Dimension is proud to have this magnificent A4 sized multimedia eye-popper from Umberto to show off on the Island. This is just absolutely gorgeous and very finely made. It is particularly impressive if seen in person. Love it!

This is the stunning mate to the other A4 sized awesome piece Umberto has created. What a killer pair of Art works - Exquisitely made.

The Trans 4-D Frontier Express (the 'Ape Train') is a delightful all day attraction for those who like Heebee sight-seeing by locomotive. This 'old time' steam train boasts terrific views from the observation cars and a cuisine that "Has not been handled by human hands"!
My fast stepping cousin Arty once again displays his Polka popping prowess on this shapely postcard. Gunter has a great sense of humor and it certainly shows through his Mail Art. Love this card! The Kaiser's mysterious girlfriend is another combined effort by William and myself. Check out the delightful components: Danger, international intrigue, romance and .......espionage? A nice package for an Armchair Adventure. I am really enjoying the occasional collaboration with William. It is a treat when our separate universes connect and ignite!
Once again William has adorned his card and envelope with a gorgeous vintage assortment of super Spanish and American stamps.
Thanks very much for all the fun I have working with you on these luscious postcards William. Can't wait to do another - actually, would like to see a whole set of these on my wall. Stan answers the exotic call of the 4th Dimension with this magnificent 'cauldron style' ancient Heebee happy cup. This jungle relic is indicative of the Islander's predecessors disposition - about the same as it is now!
I love this picture of Ray Johnson grasping in futility for the eternity sign (8) right through his Art. Stan added that nice touch of DaDa irony. Sweet.
This bunch of coolness was included in the envelope - from left to right: That's John Brown's cabin of the 1800's "Underground Railroad" fame. A Lake Quinalt sticker - love that place! And a vintage fiber postcard of the Grand Canyon - although, I must say, it looks more like Mt. Zion in New Mexico. Both places that are truly awesome.
