I had the extreme pleasure of pulling this gorgeous 'Fluxus Affair' out of the mail box today. It really is a beauty. I just love her 'thinking it over' while the intensity is off the chart. Marcia has it going on with this submission!
And get a load of this "Fluxus Navigator"! It puts out "Solid Flux"! Unbelievable! I like Marcia's superb sense of humor here.
Inside this entertaining envelope package was several other odd paper artifacts - such as this interesting little card.
The envelope is quite a sensation by itself. I am sure happy to have Marcia on the Affair. And note the exquisite vintage postage seen here. I remember when that United Nations stamp came out in 1965 - loved it then too (I was a collector). She also included a very nice note with her art. I love very nice notes. The Queen's smirky visage greeted me this morning as I collected the post. Quite lovely and regal! Val's postage creations make superb Mail Art and this one is royally fabulous!
Very good to have Val and his date show up for the Affair. I love the idea of this postal creation. The SBW is back with this puzzling evidence. "Failed again" is scrawled onto this CD as well as a lipstick smooch. I think we are talking Fluxus Affair Dada here folks! Sweet. I wanted to play the disc, but I discovered it to be thickly taped over on the playing side! It seems, somehow, very appropriate.

Julian visits the Affair with this cryptic warning card. It reads "Welcome to my Mail Art circle. I will send you Mail Art when you least expect it". I'm suddenly feeling rather like an H.P. Lovecraft character being introduced to the mysterious Cthuthlu with this promise.

Wilma writes that she "has found her way back to Heebee Jeebeeland with the aid of an old barn lamp". Not to mention a trusty sailboat - navigation to the Island can be tricky. And now Wilma joins the Affair and we are glad to have her. That lantern card is really nice and austere.
It has been a while since we have seen Wilma here. She makes up for her long absence by including a warm written note. You are a nice friend to have my dear and I mailed you something yesterday. Wilma had a Sea Exhibition Mail Art display recently. She lives on the remote Canadian shoreline of Quebec and loves the Sea - it is obvious in her Exhibit. Happy mail!

Ruud checks into the Affair with this grand 'Flux" envelope. Included in the assortment inside was a very friendly note. As I have said before, I will no longer be publishing the bits of correspondence I receive, unless it is incorporated into the Mail Art itself (and except Richard Canard of course - it is his Art). - I regard them as quite personal and strictly between myself and the sender/receiver (a 'Fluxus Affair'). I do encourage including letter writing in with the Mail Art and think there is certainly not enough of that old fashioned friendliness going on these days. Thank you for the pleasant and considerate note my friend - I appreciate it very much.

"When FLUXUS takes over, all these capitalistic evils will be replaced by peace and plenty"! And thus, the modern family will once again become the heart of the Earth.
I read somewhere that Keith was referred to as a 'concept wrangler'. I love that term and, from time to time, have entertained the idea of that title for myself as well. Val makes a bold statement here and I like the 'squaring off' of the said parties in the blue block. Nice. This is a lovely decorated envelope that came with the warning "Don't open it". Val's envelope creations are a gas!

These brilliant collages sent in by Florida artist Thompson are just exquisite. I love the "Adventures in Art" look of the card on the left. The inner-vision by Joseph Campbell on that card is definitely worth considering. I miss Joseph Campbell.
These are really knockouts. Thompson can really put together an awesome collage. Einstein melding with Buddha and assorted friends. Meanwhile, a sort of 'Alice in Wonderland' in the Encyclopedia Museum is going on to the right. Fantastic!
And a third pair of beauties to complete the sumptuous visual feast!
A little advertisement for 'Reality Impaired Recs' zine. On the right is a carved block print that I couldn't quite read, but looks great.
The Affair is happy to to find Thompson with this handsome collection of Mail Art on the premises. Included was a very nice note - which I won't publish (these are private). I love receiving notes with the mail art. Not many folks include a little correspondence and it can sure make your day - like the note that came with this. Anybody sending a note need not worry about it being published online here. Just between you and me my friends. Thank you very much for this splendid art.

A steady diet of happy faces for masterpiece mouths - on a bed of cash! Stan is back and the Affair welcomes him warmly.
Have a heart Caesar! This quirky Dada style card is entitled 'communion'. Stan is definitely a favorite as his work is cheered on by Askew enthusiasts here. Here, he depicts himself as 'blockhead' - he is anything but - although I know how it feels sometimes myself.
Also included in this Mail Art package were these two beauties. I love 1950's family photos - they have a sense of togetherness that is not common today. And check out those 'Transmission Towers' on the beautiful vintage Grand Coulee Dam postcard. Nice.

I cannot say, with any certainty, what the mysterious contents of this interesting Mail Art package are. While most mail artists are fooling around with paper, ink, rubber stamps, and magazine cut-outs - Pedro is busy melting his various ingredients together in sinister experiments. Sure makes an interesting and freaky 'bubble card'!
Nice to see Mute Sound productions at "The Affair". I must apologize however, because as I sent out the documentation for the 4th Dimension project, I found this on my desk where it must have been hidden for weeks - never having been posted. Ugh! Here, Canard nearly mistakes me for my cousin Art Tower as he addresses this card. The truth of it is, that while always a wise guy, it is difficult not to love this unique Artist. Cornpone makes his debut here with this spectacular 'electro-epiphany' postcard. I can feel this one pretty well. Super job Michael - nice and disturbing - like being resigned to being disturbed.
Great to find Michael taking time to have some fun here. He is usually busy working his magic over here: Sang Moo. This really is a splendid card, thank you very much Cornpone. Love that name as well!
