The Affair certainly welcomes Diane back on the premises. This amazing Fluxus style collage has some rather interesting features. Near the center, she has somehow affixed a shred of an postcard that I made last year. Nice! The other, even more notable, is that incredible artistamp in the upper right corner. Let's get a better look at that.

La bella Luna! Jim Hayes makes his presence known at the Affair with this lovely depiction of our only natural satellite. The moon fits into the Fluxus Affair scenario very well. Love the 1967 vintage eye popping color combo!

Certainly a pleasure to have Lin and her refreshing postcard aboard the Affair. She shares advice that is often employed here: "Just pretend". Her charming and winsome smile reflect that notion very nicely. A powerful little ATC!
Glad you could visit Lin. I also love vintage US postage and especially stamps that commemorate US space exploration missions like the 1978 "Viking missions to Mars" stamp seen above. Sweet! The 15 cents domestic mail rate had just been increased from 13 cents. Thank you very much Lin - love that card! Keep an eye on your post box!
Nice to find Nicol returning and having fun at the Affair with this Kozmic Dada bulletin. Discovering that the word 'Dada' was not listed here, Nicol creates this 'bulletin' that insists it is indeed listed - if only Kozmically!
Nicol turns in a double shot of postcard antics (actually, there were 5 cards to this batch - the others I am saving for V-Day). This second submission has evidently surpassed the 'cold shoulder' and somebody is really getting the treatment! A fine example of altered card art.

Red Head Love makes an appearance on the Affair with the sultry platinum blonde bombshell - Jean Harlow! The meteoric film star was only 26 when she died. The world loved her and so does the Affair.
Just lately, I have seen a few other postcards by Red Head Love at various Internet sites. From what I recall, they are pop icons and very cool cards - sure makes great mail art! Thank you very much RHL. Nice to see Harlow come out of obscurity and home to the Affair - where she belongs!
The Affair warmly welcomes Gena into it's ranks as she makes a grand show of it with this stupendous "wigglin' wonder" postcard. What a beauty! It is large, 'A4' in size, and seems much bigger. The unique construction of the 'wiggler' is of a stunning fashion and I am loving showing this colorful visual adventure off!
I was lucky enough to meet Gena briefly at the IUOMA site about a week or so ago. It is always a pleasure to make an acquaintance there (check it out). Mail Artist's Union members are usually very friendly and such was the case here. What is really cool is that I sent her something she should be receiving right about now as well! Thank you very much Gena for this superbly hand-painted creation - it is fantastic!
Yes, the return of Anonymous and the Affair could not be happier. This posting is actually a collection of 4 large rectangular cards that arrived simultaneously and are a terrific, colorful and vibrant bombardment batch of exquisite Mail Art.
You know, I still miss Joe and it has been a long while. I had been confounded and entertained by him many times over the years. As Campbell liked to say "Follow your bliss"......see what I mean?

I must say that it is always fun to have Bernhard on the Affair. This veteran mail artist always puts a smile on my face with the odd concepts he wrangles with his trademark 'painting/drawing' style. Thank you very much Bernhard and hope your 2011 is a gas!
Fellow 'Alexandrian Artistbook' spellbinder and Mail Artist Francoise sends in her chapter to be included to the international cooperative project. Each artist, 13 total, sent each other a chapter = 13 chapter little/big books. Anyway, this is Francoise's addition - and it is superb! Very well crafted and adorned - with a large dollop of 'class'! Great job.
Really enjoyed the almost ethereal looking 'Pinocchio-ish' sketch/drawings shown here. The power to fascinate is nicely apparent in the panels displayed above. Eight pages per chapter.
The booklet arrived inside of this simple, but handsome and elegant envelope. When I have all 13 of these chapters, here at the Affair, I shall show them off to an unsuspecting world - just as 'Alex' would have liked it! Cheers, Alexandrians! Thank you very much Francoise - love it!
Horst Baur drops into the Affair from Changsha, China! At least I think it is Changsha - I had to decipher the Chinese postal code and it is a bit complicated. This very entertaining altered newspaper is fascinating to behold. It is very large 12" x 15" and is a visual feast, too large to scan, so I took several partial scans and pieced them together - click on it twice for a better view. Very cool and clever and a lot to see!
This is only the 2nd item I have ever received from China. I will send something to Horst in return - the only way for that is to cut and paste the above label.

The Affair is posed a question by an anonymous mail artist (although I may know who it is). It is interesting that the author of the query would use the word 'short' so prominently. It is the appearance of 'short' in the sentence that makes it so dramatic. A thought provoking notion - nice card!

The Affair is happy to announce the arrival of Diane and this fabulous postcard. This is really a beauty and has the feel and appeal of an odd, yet meaningful historic document. It's smooth leathery texture and finely layered chaos is wonderful as an important relic!
Diane has addressed this card to myself and "CP". That would be the Cotton Picker she is referring to - my ever present cat that she saw me with on my IUOMA page. He is one smart and tough hombre. Diane says "What's a cat without a little scrap in 'em"? I like her thinking on that. I also have "Kitten Pickin" a younger cat, that looks identical to him (no relation though) and they are both trouble! Thank you very much for this splendid card and you shall be seeing me in the mail.
