Heebee Post #387 - Carlos Zurck Cruz - Rio de Janeiro - Brazil

This interesting card looks like the film set of an old Luis Bunuel / Salvador Dali movie. I love Bunuel. It is a curious sight - what the heck is going on in there? Like majesty disrupted. Cool postcard Carlos.Welcome to the Island Carlos! His postage is metered so that his Artistamp appears as the actual postage. Great idea. Thanks very much and see you in the mail !

Heebee Post #386 - Eduardo Cardoso - Sines - Portugal

Ever been in a very loud chaotic rock concert and found that space in your mind where nothing gets disturbed, just a peaceful clarity and you just hang out there for a while? Sure feels good!
This inner envelope held the spiritual observation seen at top inside. "Nihilistic prayers" - This got me thinking. The two together struck me as a clever concept. Can we call you 'ZenDaDa' Cardoso? Nice one Eddie!
Always a pleasure to find Eduardo in the 4th Dimension. The Islanders really enjoy his visits and this is a great one. Thank you very much my friend - you got the 'cryptical envelopement' happening with you. Eddie can be found lurking in his Paranormal Mail Art site if you would like to see more - he is always up to something interesting. Also: that postage stamp on the upper right is quite special. It features very shimmery silver metallic glass lenses in the spectacles that when scanned came out as you see them here. The change is remarkable! Way to go Portugal Post office!

Heebee Post #385 - Austin James - Dallas, Texas - USA

Spidey checks into the 4th Dimension Territories looking pretty darn cool prancing about the Heebee Cathedral's grand stained glass enclosure.
Hi Austin, welcome to the Island. Austin decorates the reverse side of this action card with a lyric from genius pop-star David Byrne. "Stop making sense" - yes, it certainly seems to adhere to my life. Thank you very much Austin. I have always loved Marvel Comic's Spiderman and the cryptic Byrne and it is great to find evidence of them here, in Heebee Jeebeeland. As for Spidey - just don't stop making "Spider sense". See you in the mail!

Heebee Post #384 - Torma Cauli - Budapest - Hungary

Fashion hints, sewing techniques, walks with Zombies and better household living (is the fellow on the lower left corner brandishing a Light Sabre?). This card is an obvious blueprint of a proper lifestyle and fun things to do.
The reverse side of Cauli's card is a very interesting paper textures piece and it looks like a splendid ancient ruin. Great job! Poor Cauli, his trusty computer suffered some damage and is not presently usable - that would have cut me to the quick , but the resourceful Cauli continues on, his talents being too much to subdue! There is a great snap of Cauli and Artist friends, Susanna Lakner and Ervin Zsubori at the Magyar Muhely Galeria in Budapest recently (click here: Picture). Cauli on the left. Snapshot courtesy of the brilliant and adorable Susanna Lakner (Planet Susannia) - thanks! You can find Cauli's MA site here: Torma Cauli Mail Art. Thank you very much my friend. Just noted: Apparently Cauli's computer has either been resurrected or he has acquired a new one - Bravo Cauli!

Heebee Post #383 - Umberto Basso - Barletta - Italy

Behold, the spirit of another world! The 4th Dimension is proud to have this magnificent A4 sized multimedia eye-popper from Umberto to show off on the Island. This is just absolutely gorgeous and very finely made. It is particularly impressive if seen in person. Love it!
A wall of Umberto postcard! Nice self portraits - apparently taken over a long period of his life.
This is the stunning mate to the other A4 sized awesome piece Umberto has created. What a killer pair of Art works - Exquisitely made.
Welcome to Heebee Island Umberto and thank you very much for the lovely and astounding additions to the 4-D Territories. They are excellent - my eyes continue to turn towards them! Very cool heart Artistamp seen along with other adornments on the envelope above. Umberto has an Art site you can visit: Umberto Basso Art. Thanks again my friend.

Heebee Post #382 - Art Tower (Gunter Schwind) - Aschaffenburg - Germany

The Trans 4-D Frontier Express (the 'Ape Train') is a delightful all day attraction for those who like Heebee sight-seeing by locomotive. This 'old time' steam train boasts terrific views from the observation cars and a cuisine that "Has not been handled by human hands"!
My fast stepping cousin Arty once again displays his Polka popping prowess on this shapely postcard. Gunter has a great sense of humor and it certainly shows through his Mail Art. Love this card! Also, hello Maria, I'll be seeing you in the mail soon. Gunter has an interesting MA site: Art Tower Mail Art. Thank you very much my friend.

Heebee Post #381 - William L. Philyaw / Test Tower (collaboration) - Shawnee, Kansas - USA

The Kaiser's mysterious girlfriend is another combined effort by William and myself. Check out the delightful components: Danger, international intrigue, romance and .......espionage? A nice package for an Armchair Adventure. I am really enjoying the occasional collaboration with William. It is a treat when our separate universes connect and ignite!
Once again William has adorned his card and envelope with a gorgeous vintage assortment of super Spanish and American stamps.
Thanks very much for all the fun I have working with you on these luscious postcards William. Can't wait to do another - actually, would like to see a whole set of these on my wall. Anybody else interested in collaboration? Let me know. William's fine work can be found here: Marconi News and his Mail Art site here: Addressee. Thank again my friend - see you in the mail.

Heebee Post #380 - Stan Askew - Pasadena, California - USA

Stan answers the exotic call of the 4th Dimension with this magnificent 'cauldron style' ancient Heebee happy cup. This jungle relic is indicative of the Islander's predecessors disposition - about the same as it is now!
I love this picture of Ray Johnson grasping in futility for the eternity sign (8) right through his Art. Stan added that nice touch of DaDa irony. Sweet.
This bunch of coolness was included in the envelope - from left to right: That's John Brown's cabin of the 1800's "Underground Railroad" fame. A Lake Quinalt sticker - love that place! And a vintage fiber postcard of the Grand Canyon - although, I must say, it looks more like Mt. Zion in New Mexico. Both places that are truly awesome.
Great to have Stan back in the other dimension. I had just sent out something to him when I received this interesting package. Thank you very much old friend. You can find more of Stan's work here: Askew Photo.

Heebee Post #379 - Lothar Trott - Zurich - Swizterland

Lothar returns to the 4th Dimension with a postcard from Pokuland. I finally understand that Poku is an abbreviation of Post Kunst (Mail Art). As usual it is dosed heavily with a DaDa influence and art icon Artistamps. Lothar offers a unique glimpse into our Art culture and you can see him in the very center above. Nice 'Planet Dada Rescue' Artistamp too.
Welcome back to the Island dear Lothar and thank you for your very kind words. It is always a treat to find this long time artist on our humble shores. Thank you very much my friend - I will keep in touch!

Heebee Post #378 - Richard F. Yates (Supreme Bunny Warlord) - Longview, Washington - USA

This puzzling evidence is called 'Experiment IV'. The original tiny card was torn in half and plastered down with some heavy clear tape with the note: "Did not meet minimum size standards of 3 1/2" by 5" or 7/1000" thick". Deviant work by the SBW or a Post Office wreck? You decide.
"Experiment IV" also is the name of one of my favorite songs. Find out why here: Experiment IV. (Thank you Miss Bush). Nice to see you here again Richard and thanks very much for your 'puzzling evidence' card - love it!

Heebee Post #377 - Servane Morel - Brussels - Belgium

4th Dimension elements are much the same as their 3rd Dimension counterpart. The dynamics of these elements, however, can be quite different - as seen in this other-world vision of the elementary nature of things.
Servane is back on the Island to serve up one last effort of Heebeeness and it is a dandy! I love those super Artistamps that adorn the reverse side. Is that Servane herself on the right? Very nice! As she notes here, I will be initiating a new Mail Art call soon, but I think I should get a little closer to finishing the great task of documentation for the Heebee Jeebeeland project first. This will take me about a month I think (we'll see). Meanwhile, I'll see you in the mail my dear and thank you very much. Servane is a super Mail Artist and you can check her out here lettres d'aillures and here World Wonders of Mail Art.

Heebee Post #376 - Deb Wilson - Mt. Vernon, Illinois - USA

One cool, cool Kitty in Heebee Jeebee City. This card really conveys that 'hip sensation' a person often feels when vacationing in the 4-D Island Territories. You just know that this hipster will be having a time to remember on her holiday.
Welcome to the Island Deb. Yes, please do hang out here for a while - you are making the place look great! Nice to have that chic appeal and smart fashion to set off the Heebee magic that makes the 4th Dimension go 'round! Thank you very much Deb. Love your card!

Heebee Post #375 - Coralette Damme (the Crafty Hag) - St. Petersburg, Florida - USA

A brilliant move by the Heebee Resort to control a growing traffic problem here on the Island, resulted in the installation of various artistic speed control signs such as the one seen above. Island locals refer to them as the 'Sleeping Policemen'.
Hi Coralette and welcome back. The likeable Hag has returned to Heebee beaches with this fabulous card. It's got Dino-postage on it (I loved those!) and a nice block print Artistamp as well. Very nice to see you here again and thank you very much. You can find Her Craftiness collecting Mail Art here: Dread Lippencott's Menagerie and toiling away in her old shed here: The Crafty Hag.

Heebee Post #374 - Nancy Scali - Claremont, California - USA

This very fragile endoskeleton of a Seahorse is exactly 3" in length. Surrounded in a plastic envelope, it appears as if encased in water. This ATC has a interesting and odd museum like feel to it and is a stunning Mail Art specimen.
Anyone who has ever received one of these cards from Nancy knows they are of fine quality and flawlessly constructed. These 'Lobster Chorus' felines are delicately painted on next to a metallic Red Lobster - the source of their inspiration. Thank you very much Nancy - you will be seeing something from the Island soon in the post. Nancy has a marvelous Mail Art site: Amazing Art Tickles. Pop in - she is one of my faves!

Heebee Post #373 - R.F. Cote' - Quebec, QC - Canada

A happy molecular release is occurring from Reg's new submission to the Heebee Territories. The actual floor of the 4th Dimension jungle can be seen here radiating molecules of pure joy. This makes hiking a lot more enjoyable, especially if you are near a 'Hot Spot' like the one above - hire one of the local guides as these 'Hot Spots' can be difficult to locate by the casual novice here.
Reg returns to the 4th Dimension in good form with this wonderful card of Happiness Stew. It is splendid to find our Canadian friend here again and there are smiles all around the Island. Thank you very much. Reg runs a popular M.A site: R.F.Cote' Mail Art and the very hip Circulaire 132 - check him out.
