Heebee Post #632 - Marcia Cirillo (Fifi le Pew) - Mckinney, Texas - USA

Marcia's happy postcard couple gasp in astonished exultation as they arrive in Heebee Jeebeeland. Right on time for a perfect Fluxus Affair. Note the Test Tower in the background! Nice touch! Love this card!
Nice to see Fifi le Pew back in mail art action as the Affair has missed her entertaining style. Thank you very much and I'll be making some art for you too. See ya in the mail Marcia.

Heebee Post #631 - Lisa Hunter - Apple Valley, California - USA

Lisa Hunter's Zombie debut on the Affair is fraught with the popular undead creatures. This "Zombie Powder Anime" is generously sprinkled with the stuff. Nice envelope Lisa.
Lisa's license for the extinguishing and disposal of the re-animated.
"Love, Exposed, Delete" - this character supports that grim motto, carved into him. These Zombies can have sharp fingernails too!
Also included was this comparative data on the different flus going around.
And several pages of this interesting Zombie tale. Thank you very much Lisa. I would be remiss if I didn't at this moment mention my mail art friend, "I'm a Super Hero" has got a whopper of a Zombie project going on right now: Mail Art of the Living Dead. Check it out. Happy mail!

Heebee Post #630 - Art Tower (Gunter Schwind) - Aschaffenburg, Germany

"Everything for the New Europe - Under the sign of Happy". Cousin Arty is back and sassy, waving his banner of happiness and having a good time doing it. If you know Gunter, and I do, you would know that he is very much like that in real life. Note the 'now and then' pics. Wave on my friend!
Some pretty snazzy artistamps decorate the reverse side of my cousin's card - including Gunter with angelic hands. Thank you very much cuz. By the way, something is in the post for you. Happy Mail!

Heebee Post #629 - Red Head Love - Plymouth, Massachusetts

Red's new postcard reminds me of the 1950's movie "Blackboard Jungle" (great cast!) - a movie I saw as a young child and, I must admit, it nearly scared me to death! I still get a twinge of that when I see volatile juveniles blatantly ogling sex-bomb seductresses - scenarios like this one.
Thank you for the postcard Red. I am more used to the pop-iconic cards she usually sends. Is this a departure or just a vacation from her usual modus operandi? She certainly got the Affair's attention! Whew! Also: love that "Fe Mail" cancellation stamping.

Heebee Post # 628 - Herman Kamphuis - Amsterdam - The Netherlands

This stunning beauty arrived yesterday morning and took my breath away. Herman Kamphuis is a champion of Mail Art and continues to prove it with his incredible imagery, juxtapositioning and the unusual media material he fastens together for his magical and unique brand of art. His work doesn't look or feel like anybody else's. Bravo, dear Herman, bravo! I can't take my eyes off this fine composition. Beautiful, ethereal and strange - a winning combo with me!
The reverse side of the large postcard (6" x 10") is a definite Fluxus Affair treat. Herman really got it right - it is just oozing with the Affair vibe. Positively fantastic work my friend. Something is on the way to your post box - see you in the mail!

Heebee Post #627 - Valery Shimanovsky - Nizhekamsk, Tartarstan - Russia

Valery sends in this remarkable tough/tender vision of the tolerance for tension and clash around the modern world. A nice disturbing glimpse of conflict. Nice job old man.
There is a fine looking photo of this cards creator amid a flurry of interesting Russian postage.Nice to actually see you! Thank you very much for your "world condition observance" postcard. Hard to not see it. I really like Valery's mail art site too: Mailartmonmartr. It must be also said that he also has a great sense of humor.

Heebee Post #626 - Jennifer Kosharek - St. Petersburg, Florida - USA

Jen is back on the Affair with this "A Fluxus Affair ends in tragedy" or "Fluxedy" as the term wants to be spoken. I, like you, gentle reader, can only wonder if this has any regard to her reality. And the no 'arms for holding' gives it an even more somber tone.
Jennifer is the proud purveyor of the entertaining Eve-N-Odd Gallery shop. The shop is a brilliant mixture of local sundry vibrant Art and a gas to visit. Nice to see her having fun!
A little advertising for Eve-N-Odd. Nice hair on this one! Love the smiling mushrooms too! Jen had a superb interview with Jennie Hinchcliff of Red Letter Day (see the June 09 post) not long ago. Some nice pics of her and her art antics. Well done!
I love the fake Richard Canard postcard. Perfectly done Jen! We both really enjoy Richard's work and he is a good sport. By the way, haven't seen too much of Richard for a while. Hope you are well and happy my friend, miss ya. You too Jen, thank you very much for the cards. Kosharek Mail Art.

Heebee Post #625 - Irene Ronchetti - Buenos Airies - Argentina

Irene sends in documentation for her interesting "El Circulo" project in her clean, crisp and immaculate style. This is edition #20 of a running A4 sized documentation and it is a nice way to accomplish a more personal display. Each one of the 'circles', sent in by every artist, are about 8" in diameter. I am quite happy to have been part of it. Thanks Irene.
These three panels were as it looked folded up. I like the way she has done this, simple and handsome. Great job!
Nice to see Irene's efforts for her project after quite a while. It has a nice countenance to it - I always like that. Well done Irene and thank you very much! Zona Postal - Mail Art and El Circulo Project.

Heebee Post #624 - Norbert Koczorski - Diepholz - Germany

This "Ansichts Karte" or 'viewing postcard' (a term the Affair enjoys), sent in by Norbert, explains some of the mechanics of "Post Kunst" or 'Mail Art'. It is #1312 - that is a long series (a fierce campaign?).
A sharp looking Koczorski Artistamp up in the corner - nice work! Thank you very much Norbert. I shall be making a return Ansichts Karte to Germany very soon!

Heebee Post #623 - D.C. Spaulding - Lomita, California - USA

Get a load of this gorgeous 'Special Delivery' Artistamp sheet from long time mail artist DC Spaulding. These are just stunning DC! Elegant and graceful, this A4 size sheet is a luscious treat for the eyes. Excellent job.
The colorful sheet arrived inside the handsome envelope seen above. The origami crane design is good looking too - delicate perfection as DC's work invariably is. The Affair likes that scrubbed clean look.
Seen above, is the second piece from DC and is a silhouette portrait of the eccentric recluse "Waldo Whittlenose" You can read all about the fabled writer below on the reverse side of the curious postcard.
Very good to have you back on the Affair DC. Thank you very much for the "Double Bubble" shot of Mail Art my friend. Love the "Whittlenose" Artistamps seen here too! Great mail art - see you in the post very soon!

Heebee Post #622 - Joey - Oakland, California - USA

Joey returns to the Affair with his caricature (in a very smart looking jacket, I might add) imposed upon a vintage image of the magnificent Hippodrome Theatre in Cleveland, Ohio. Built in 1907, it was hailed as the largest and grandest theater west of New York. It was elaborate and colossal and could accommodate some 3,458 theater-goers. Unfortunately, it was razed in 1981 and only a parking lot remains on that spot. It sure would have been fun to see Will Rogers, W.C. Fields, Sarah Bernhardt, Al Jolson or one of the many great Big Bands of the 30's and 40's. Among it's many lavish features, there was an 80ft. water tank for "Water Spectacles". Check out this grandiose relic here: The "Hipp" slideshow.
Nice to have you back Joey. I see you've included your 'secret weapon' for catching your piscine prizes - a wonderful pastime, I must admit. Thank you very much and see ya in the mail!

Heebee Post #621 - Art Tower (Gunter Schwind) - Aschaffenburg - Germany

Sure is a merry morning when you pull these gleeful gals out of your post box. Cousin Arty proudly shows off the wonderful "Mail Art Twins" - that also just happens to be his own lovely grand children. Happy Mail Art Day indeed! Great portrait Gunter - the girls, as I'm certain you are aware, are very cool.
Another gorgeous artistamp from Art Tower - actually from a photograph Gunter snapped while visiting here, in Heebee Jeebeeland, about two years ago. Two years gone by already since you were last here in the states? Wow, time is slippery. I miss you too old friend. Art Tower Mail Art.

Heebee Post #620 - Oh Boy - Burbank, California - USA

I got a little carried away with Oh Boy's Add & Pass. He has sent several of these, all destined for John Evans in NYC. I found these while clearing off my Art bench. There was more than one surprise I discovered. So, for a very few people: sorry for the late postings - I'll get every one yet!
Thank you very much O.B. I really like that "Your Buddy" stamping and the "Toe Jam" (far left) one too. And there is a genuine Buz Blurr Artistamp! "Surrealville - Pricipality of Buz" - Nice touch. I'll be sending the Add & passes along - see you in the mail!
