Heebee Post #484 - Frips - Gent - Belgium

Veteran Mail Artist and friend 'Frips' reappears on the Affair with a few fun samples of 'Frips Post'. The Bear Artistamp seen above is a carved block print using a wonderful golden ink - not seen here as well as in person.
She also included this interesting Add & Pass. I am the 7th participant. I added the two Fluxus kids in the center and shall get it on down the line to the next artist.
I have always liked the appearance of Frips' Mailart envelopes. They somehow have a real odd correspondence appeal to them - Something like Dr. Livingston might have sent Sir Henry Stanley to tell him where he was hiding in Africa. I am always delighted to see Frips here - she has been one of my favorite Mail Artists for a long while now. She runs the very popular Frips Mail Art. I also like her writing "Fluxux" on the reverse side of the envelope. Very nice word old girl. Thank you very much - see ya in the mail!

Heebee Post #483 - Dosankodebbie (Deborah Davidson) - Toyohiro-ku, Sapparo - Japan

Dear Dosankodebbie returns to the Affair with this splendid romantic Etegami card. Not a usual theme for Etegami - so I am quite happy to have this mail art gem. Now, I cannot get the song "Brand new key" (Melanie 1971) out of my head - especially after watching the Dollyrots perform it!
Welcome back to the Affair Deb. As usual, your work is subtle yet eloquent and I enjoy it very much. The reverse side is festive and vibrant - and that heart shaped postage stamp is a gas! Thank you so much for this super (and nicely laminated) Etegami postcard. Dosakodebbie's Mailart Gallery.

Heebee Post #482 - Natalya Korokova - Nadym, Jamalo-Nenetz - Russia

Natalya stops into the Affair with this interesting postcard that incorporates a Photo studio biz card into her drawing. Reminds me of the jungles of the 4th Dimension.
Glad you stopped by Natalya and welcome. Your note is endearing and sweet and I shall be sending something to you in the next day or so. Thank you very much for the card and you shall find something from the Affair soon in your post box. You can visit her Mail Art site here: mailart-mailart-mailart.

Heebee Post #481 - RCBz - St. Clown, Minnesota - USA

Always a pleasure to have RCBz roaming around on the Affair. I love the gritty appeal of this card. Like a 'Firing Range' with the 'Art Target Gallery' in some obscure warehouse along a dangerous wharf.
Get a load of this cool detail: is that a Kitty Cosmonaut in the center? Nice little collection of "ASVP" stuff - a New York artist who's work is pasted around Manhattan lately and is just fabulous. Love ASVP stuff!
Great to have the grand mail art surrealist RCBz (like a mail art Jedi) visit the Affair. Thank you for the kind words my friend. I am enjoying your work very much as well. The "Perisphere" postcard (see Post #447) has to be one of the all time greatest! Thanks again for that too. Something in the mail soon. RCBz Postcard Art.

Heebee Post #480 - Angie Cope (Alexander Book) - Port Washington, Wisconsin - USA

Angie joins the Affair with her 8 page addition to the combined effort that will result in a nice and hefty 'Big/Little book' all about Alexander the Great coming to your neighborhood. Here is the 'cover' page of her chapter.
The center of this little work completely folds out and opens to a nearly A4 size. Great work Angie! Thank you very much.

Heebee Post #479 - Valentine Mark Herman (Alexander Book) - Sigean - France

Val returns to the Affair with this tale of Alexander being seduced by the French countryside and culture.
The center two page fold out is more of the same convincing hospitality. Sure makes your home town of Sigean look quite inviting. I'm sure Alexander enjoyed himself here. The Alexandrians. Thank you very much Val.

Heebee Post #478 - Jen Staggs (Alexander Book) - Dallas, Texas - USA

Jen Staggs sends in her meticulously crafted little Alexander booklet much to the delight of the Affair. Each page is carefully adorned with a reinforcement covering on the edges - a lot of individual detail rendered into each booklet she made (13 ea.). Fantastic work Jen! Love this cover page.
Thank you very much Jen. You shall be receiving some stuff from me very soon. I will be glad to have all the chapters and compile my own 'Big/Little' book shortly. I have sent out almost all 13 of my chapters to the fellow Alexandrians - the rest shall go out tomorrow. Super job Jen!

Heebee Post #477 - Camel O'Rama - Seattle, Washington - USA

Camel returns to the Affair with part #2 of his Mail Art 365 - That is, a daily (365) creation of Mail Art and this piece is his second effort. A friendly spongy skull that is no doubt singing: "Aaaaaaiiiiiieeeee got no body......" Nice to have you back Cam. Good luck on that 365 mail arts project. For me I would dangerously risk having Mail Art turn into a ghastly chore. But I do and will continue to encourage those few who are committed to this.MAIL ART 365. Thank you very much.

Heebee Post #476 - Jim Hayes - Marietta, Georgia - USA

The Affair welcomes Jim, who sent in a large envelope that was packed with a broad and unusual assortment of art and paper artifacts. Above is a beautiful piece and example of his work.
Jim manages to create some kind of 'working ID document'. Something stark and Dada-like about this. Nice.
Troubled Hypno-hands reach for help in the medicine cabinet. A large A4 size print that evokes a quiet desperation to the observer.
Thanks for all the fun stuff you sent Jim (a lot not pictured). I enjoyed it immensely. Also included was the Artist's "Confusing Activity with Accomplishment" a treatise on Jim's concept of the current state of mail art. Very interesting. I had sent something to you Jim before I read the 'Treatise'. Next time I shall send something with a bit more correspondence to it. Thanks again. Assembly Poetry Plant Marietta.

Heebee Post #475 - Lisa / Skybridge Studios - Manchester, Indiana - USA

Skybridge Studios is heralded into the Affair by this terrific action packed and impassioned scenario of chaotic Fluxus fun.
Nice to see Lisa here with this lively and entertaining postcard. Thank you very much. The reverse side of this card has an interestingly elegant appeal to it - especially compared to the turbulent front side. A great card! Lisa, I'll be visiting Skybridge Studios in the mail soon!

Heebee Post #474 - Eduardo ZenDada Cardoso - Sines - Portugal

"Singin' in the rain.......". Always a good deal of fun when Eddie (ZenDada) shows up here, at the Affair. I like the fellow trying to avoid the 'Acid Rain crossword puddle'. I like your work Eduardo.
The 'Paranormal Mail Art' (Eddie's Mail Art Laboratory) insignia. I like his scientific approach to the subject.
Sure am glad Eduardo dropped in - his ZenDada techniques are always puzzling and entertaining. Thank you very much my friend. Find Professor Zendada at work in his Paranormal Mail Art Lab. Love this stuff!

Heebee Post #473 - Coralette Damme (The Crafty Hag) - St. Petersburg, Florida - USA

Vom Krampus! Sounds like a bad idea to cross this nasty fellow - and I thought a lump of coal was rotten! It is nice to see Coralette back on the Affair. Love this funky Christmas carved print block and the harsh and grim sounding lore that accompanied it on the reverse side. A great card Coralette! Thank you very much. Dread Lippencott's Menagerie. Happy Christmas my dear Hag! The Crafty Hag.

Heebee Post #472 - Stan Askew - Pasadena, California - USA

Stan is back on the Affair with this wild west action postcard. Notorious outlaw and beloved folk hero Billy the Kid looking stylish and business like. As bad as he was, he is just a silly old dead guy now with an angel that has turned it's back to him.
Nice to have Stan return - The Affair loves his unique brand of Postcard. I like the lady with the "laughing bones" (dice). Thank you very much. Stan is a great guy to exchange mail art with and you can find more of his handiwork here: Photo Askew. Be seeing you in the mail soon my friend.

Heebee Post #471 - Pierpaolo Limongelli - Bari - Italy

Hello Pierpaolo, welcome to the Affair. This very interesting Artist brings his "Mail Art Carnival" to Heebee Jeebeeland. Love the Artistamps, especially the Franco Altobelli one in the center.
I am so glad Pierpaolo sent this card to me - I had lost touch with him. But now, I have the new address and I shall be sending something to him to restart our exchanges. Thank you very much. Pierpaolo Limongelli Art.

Heebee Post #470 - Nicol A. Kostic - Toledo, Ohio - USA

Nicol enters into the Affair in grand fashion with 7 nicely crafted and clever postcards. Phenomenal ! The above is my favorite of the group. Capturing a Dada flavor, it is a reference table for the "Horizontal Comfort Index". A fantastic card!
What a tremendous effort Nicol has made for the romantic side of Mail Art!
I know that Nicol, being from the 'Beat' generation, can recognize and have fun at the mundane aspect of domestic life - yet also recognizes that " It's better to have old, second hand diamonds than none at all" (Mark Twain).
And these beauties as well. Looks like Fluxus valentines Isis and Osiris on the left - great job! The card on the right is a fabulous cryptic Fluxus message. That makes 7 super cards! ......And after the seventh card, she rested.....
Nicol, we here at the Affair salute your lessons in wisdom regarding the commonplace and more esoteric forms of romance - "The offspring of love". Nicely done old girl. I shall be visiting you in the mail my friend and thank you very much!
