Heebee Post #804 - Art Tower (G. Schwind) - Aschaffenburg - Germany

I barely whispered his name yesterday and today Art Tower sets his Mailbot minions out to descend upon Heebee Jeebeeland, causing fun and excitement throughout the 4th Dimension. I see El Tortugabot has joined the ranks as well.
The reverse side sports Gunter revealing his alter-ego (center, top) as he plays a sort of Puppet Master to the automated rogues. That little guy in the center looks a bit like a Dalek from the Dr. Who TV show.
I thought we might get a closer look at this handsome rascal. Goofy and noble - just as cousin Arty intended with his unique style. He looks great and I dig his shirt too. Thank you very much my dear friend and see ya in the mail. Art Tower's Mail Art.

Heebee Post #803 - Outgoing mail to Art Tower - Aschaffenburg - Germany

I don't usually display too much outgoing art here, but I just couldn't resist showing off this postcard that is destined for my cousin Art Tower (Gunter) in Germany.  Yes, it is an unusual profile of him, snapped here in Heebee Jeebeeland a couple of years ago when he was visiting the USA.  We sure had a lot of Inter-Dimensional fun and when he departed,  he took a big piece of the 4th Dimension home with him. We have both used this classic pic of him many times and here it is again, appropriately altered,  in all it's Mail Art glory!  Find this card in your post box next week my old friend. I miss you.

Heebee Post #802 - Joey Patrickt - Oakland, California - USA

Joey Patrickt sends in a snap that was taken right around the corner and just over the Skookumchuck River from my house!  Almost my backyard! And yes, I do shop at this establishment - and like it because it is a 'Culture Adventure' in there!  I have a tendency to find cool no matter where it hides! I like the image of Joey on the left - as if an advertisement for the store. Nice touch.
I wonder how Joey enjoyed his holiday in Centralia? Western Washington is quite beautiful and the weather has been nearly sterling.  So, I'm sure he had a great time. Let me know next time you are coming up here, I am receptive to meeting folks - especially mail artists! Thanks for the card Mr. Patrickt. See ya in the mail.

Heebee Post #801 - Sky City (Lord Fugue) - Hickory, North Carolina - USA

When it comes to monstrous visions of beauty, Sky City does an excellent job of confounding the viewer with his 'other world' techniques. Seeing into a grim, but glorious future, Lord Fugue sips his heady cocktail of triumph over weirdness - making the strange seem inevitable and even normal and therefore able to coexist with us.
The reverse side is even more fun with it's busy antics ("Bones of Kings"). It also features a pleasant note from the enigmatic artist. Isn't that early 20th century German film star Max Shreck in the lower left? He's always a crowd pleaser. Just a great arrangement and feel to this side. Thanks Lord Fugue and yes, I am enjoying our exchanges too. See you in the mail.

Heebee Post #800 - DC Spaulding - Lomita, California - USA

DC's de-evolutionary declaration "Vision without sight" artistamp looks fantastic as an entire sheet. High quality work from the well-known Californian artist. There is even a provision for his signature. This is how ya do it folks. Very nicely done.
This is really a splendid effort from DC. Note the "Mailed from Jackalopeland" rubber stamping on the left side. This decorated envelope makes for a fine 'total concept' package. Again, this is how ya do it folks! DC is quite a concept wrangler and makes it look easy.  My artistamp collection and I thank you very much and see ya in the mail!

Heebee Post #799 - J. Strangroom - Somerville, Massachusetts - USA

Strangroom's daily 'collection stroll' results usually produces the front side of his stark looking postcards. He he records 3 cents found on June 21, 2012. I once received one where he was skunked! That Fluxus rubber stamping says "Concerned with Insignificances" . Sweet.
Thank you very much Mr. Strangroom for that mail art cash report. Be seeing you in the post !

Heebee Post #798 - Eduardo ZenDada Cardoso - Sines - Portugal

As is often his want, Eduardo's current visit to the Heebee Jeebee is both playful and puzzling.  The above panel is an "Add and Pass" that Eduardo created and sent along.  I also contributed to it and so far there is just me and ZenDada here. It does have promise and I shall send it on - and to whom shall it go?
Eduardo is very much into Minimalistic Art these days and the above two panels are a product of that trend.
The ZenDada's envelopes are always a paranormal scream and this one doesn't disappoint in that regard. Thank you very much Eduardo - strange matter indeed! See you in the mail. Paranormal Mail Art.

Heebee Post #797 - Norbert Koczorski - Diepholz - Germany

Norbert returns to Heebee Jeebeeland with the uplifting message "Fluxus - We can do it!".  The altered postcard sure boasts confidence and determination. I am becoming more and more curious regarding that round face in the lower left.
50 Jahre Fluxus is a museum where, evidently, Norbert is having a "Ansichts Karte Fluxsive" (Viewing Card Fluxsive). The Nassau Kunstverein (middle circle) is an Art association in Wiesbaden. I see they are using that same Indian looking head. What is that? Also, I can't possibly read the note on the bottom of the card. Ah well. Thank you very much Norbert. See you in the mail.

Heebee Post #796 - Katerina Nikoltsou - Thessaloniki - Greece

A lone sailboat enjoys the azure summer waters off the Greek coast in peaceful solitude. The blue label on the shimmery golden background (top left) gives the relaxing vision a sort of 'official' feel. I love this card Katerina, it takes me away!
Katerina also includes this pleasant note of friendship that ends with a request for a "Summer Fluxus" postcard from Heebee Jeebeeland. She will be happy to know that it is already in the mail, racing to her this very minute! Thank you very much Ms Nikoltsou. And by the way, I am doing fine now, thanks for asking dear girl. See you in the post.

Heebee Post #795 - Frips - Ghent - Belgium

There is only one Frips and here is her wonderful brand of art in all her unique mail art splendor. Her summer card is pure joy -  a triumphant celebration over the human condition. I dig Frips. A lot.
The popular Mail Artist included the above stamp sheet of the swim suit woman in various altered states. The top of the panel features a note of friendship ending with "Enjoy Summer and Life". That is a plan I hope to adhere to for the season and well passed it.
One of Frip's trademarks is of  a cat, stretched out luxuriously and napping soundlessly.  This is a great example of which I speak and serves as the cover of a 6"x 5" entertaining artist booklet.
The booklet is filled with contents of the obscure. Above left is a very interesting bird enthusiast's card - In both French and German. On the right is Frip's 'Push me, pull you'.
Here is a beautiful 'plate block' of Frip's artistamps. Fripspost 2012. There was so much more in the booklet  that I couldn't scan it all.  But know, especially dear Frips, that I loved it all.
That back cover of the intriguing Artistbooklet - another beauty - she makes it look easy.
The decorated envelope that Frips used as an 'Art packet' is also nicely 'Fripped out'. I am quite fond of her quirky international folk art style and hope our exchanges continue for a long, long time. Frips is an icon of Mail Art and for many reasons - all of them good. Thanks very much - you made my day! See you in the mail my old friend. Visit her extremely popular mail art site: Frips Mail Art.

Heebee Post #794 - Otto D Sherman - New York, New York - USA

"And they shall beat their swords into ploughshares", a sentence from the bible implying that there will be no more battles among them and in fact, the early peace movement was to be their new way of life. Well, isn't bullets into butterflies Otto's way of saying the same thing? A nice notion to live by!
The other side of the peace movement card is a pair of curious Artistamps made by the prodigious Mail Artist.
I thought we might get a better look at those two artistamps. The muscle queen on the left is an eerie vision of a workout gone wild. The other artistamp is of a smiling President Bush who is being hugged atrociously by someone that I can't quite identify. Can anyone help with that? Anyway, thank you Otto for the card and we shall see you in the mail. Otto Art  website.

Heebee Post # 793 - Connie Jean - Titusville, Florida - USA

From the Heebee Jeebeeland jungles to the Great Northwest corner of the USA, Bigfoot continues his elusive existence.  Connie Jean sends in the reminder card, that if you  see him, get your camera phone out!
The backs of Connie Jean's postcards are always busy and entertaining. This one features Gators galore and a "Mailus Artus Post Haste" rubber stamping. Thank you Connie Jean, we love Bigfoot around here.  A local inn is host to the Bigfoot festival every year in our town. And yes, it's a gas!  Connie Jean's Mail Art.
Since we were discussing Big foot, I couldn't resist showing off my Bigfoot Club rubber stamp, complete with a little fellow that has an actual big foot!  You may have seen this on mail art I have sent out. It's goofy , but I like it!

Heebee Post #792 - Servane Morel - Brussels - Belgium

"More fun, less worry" - Servane's grinning cast of Heebee Jeebee characters are taking that way of thinking  to heart as the smile fest continues here with this warm and vibrant postcard. Servane is always so expressive and the merriment of the card is clearly felt. Nice job my clever friend - I love this happy business!
The back side of the entertaining card has a little uplifting note from the celebrated artist and I couldn't agree more with her.  I see she has acquired a few more rubber stamps - I like the cancelled Francais postage stamp. The entire card has a tone of friendship to it as exchanging mail art over a long period of time often produces.  Thank you Servane, great card! I have just sent you something a few days ago,  so keep an eye on the post. Servane Morel's mail art.

Heebee Post #791 - PC (tic tac) - Starnburg - Germany

I received this "Special Edition" packet of mail art from a very talented and elegant artist, whose works are precise and exquisite.  Patizia's package includes a warm note on the above "What's in your head" postcard. I had recently used her Cavellini artistamp in the background of a dancing Cavellini postcard that I had sent to her.  Glad she liked it.  And I sure like the rubber stamping identifying PC as the sender of this one.
Patrizia's stamp booklets are in mint condition and are a study in precision. This artistamp sheet features the inimitable Mail Art father, Ray Johnson. I have a growing collection of these beauties from PC and I must say, they are stunning in there simple perfection. Fantastic work!
The second of the 4" x 5 1/2" artistamp stamp booklets is the 'fruity' Octopus representing the sovereign realm of the Quindi Islands.  One of my favorite mail art concepts are the fictional kingdoms created by the artists and she has done a great job of that with this one. I am quite delighted to be the owner of these lovely works. Thank you so much Patrizia, I'm nuts for this kind of stuff. See you in the mail my friend.  PC (tic tac) Mail Art.

Heebee Post #790 - William L Philyaw - Shawnee, Kansas - USA

William's composition is a real eye magnet. I love that reckless sense of  joy, while living on the edge of doom and this card offers that notion in spades. It's a party at the end of the World!  I absolutely love this new work by one of mail art's finest imaginations. Killer postcard William.
The other side of the engaging card is typical Philyaw info and imagery - now, including mail art vixen "Fluxus Girl"!
The splendid postcard arrived inside this transparent envelope. A nice display (as usual) of handsome vintage USA postage. That 6 cent Air Mail  stamp commemorating 50 years of powered flight is a rarely seen beauty - gotta love it!  Thank you William, you really hit the ball over the fence with your 'end of the world party' postcard. It's a beautiful thing my old friend. See you soon in the post. Addressee
