Heebee Post #916 - Stan Askew - Pasadena, California - USA

Gazing into the future of the new year. Stan's New Year's vision feels good on the brain as we consider the promise of trying to do a few things better,  like letting go of rotten memories than slow you down,  and conquering your procrastination list.  Rather as if a new beginning - don't mess it up this time around!
Interesting how the contrast of the still and calm water with the tangle and chaos of rock jetting out of it works nicely together - especially with the great reflection that's larger than the monolithic formation.  All this on a standard bed of Askew Tiffanies.
Stan has contributed mightily  to my collection of vintage postcards over the years and these three are another wonderful addition.  "Homes of the Stars" postcards from the late 1930's to the late 1940's.  The card above is the home of the beautiful Austrian-American actress Hedy Lamar.  My first thoughts of Hedy are always her role as the splendorous siren Tondelayo in the film White Cargo (1942).
The comfortable home of the Nelson's.  Ozzie was a member of the Red Skelton Radio Show and in 1944 when Red was drafted, Ozzie was prompted to start a show of his own. And so, "The Adventures of Ozzie and Harriet" radio show was born. Their famous TV show of the same name, that depicted the typical 1950's American family, premiered on ABC in 1952 and ran until 1966.  It was pretty corny but, I liked it.
Home of the well known singing Cowboy, Gene Autry.  Autry was an amazingly likable individual that has a long history in Radio, TV, Film and many other endeavors, such as forming and acquiring the Los Angeles Angels baseball team in 1960. What a guy!
Thanks Stan, it's always a pleasurable adventure to open your magic stuffed envelopes. I hope your 2013 is filled with happiness. See you in the mail!  Photo Askew.
